             abstract = "Protected areas are one of the main tools against the continuous 
                         global crisis affecting biodiversity, but their success depends on 
                         the representativeness of the ecosystems to be protected and on 
                         the long term persistency of this protection. The conservation 
                         planning has to deal not only with the location of these areas, 
                         but with the attributes relative to their design. This work sought 
                         to determine the best limits for a Wildlife Reserve (WR) in the 
                         river basins that drain to the Carij{\'o}s Ecologic Station, 
                         making use of the Systematic Planning for Conservation (SPC), with 
                         help of the tool Marxan. Our proposal aimed to conserve part of 
                         the Ecosystem Services (ES) in the region, which are threatened by 
                         the implementation of the citys directive plan, trough spatial 
                         analysis and the costs related to their protection. the results of 
                         this analysis have shown that the creation of an WR, within the 
                         proposed limits, would mean a significative gain on the protection 
                         of the many ecosystems and associated SEs. We concluded that the 
                         SPC, together with Marxan software, is satisfactory in defining 
                         protected areas in an urban environment with great habitat 
                         fragmentation. It also became clear that the emphasis on ESs was 
                         beneficial. The implementation of a WR in the region is possible 
                         and in an extremely representative area for the urban situation 
                         present in a state capital.",
